PTSA Reflections Contest 2022-23

“Show Your Voice!”

Reflections is a National PTA sponsored arts recognition program that encourages artistic expression.

Hightower Trail PTSA is excited to announce that this year’s Reflections contest is underway.  It is time for Hightower Trail students to explore the arts and express themselves through one or more of the six entry categories listed below.  We hope that you will encourage your child to participate and to reflect on this year’s theme: “Show Your Voice!”

Each student can enter in one or all of the six categories: Literature, Visual Arts, Dance Choreography, Music Composition, Photography, and Film Production.

Submission Information: 

The program is complete for this school year. We hope you plan to participate this Fall!

Awards and Exhibits: 

All participants will be awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the PTSA President and Principal Polk. Those students with entries placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each category at our local school level will move on to the East Cobb Council level for judging. Winning entries at the East Cobb Council level can then move on to State and from there to National.

Student entries submitted to the national level go through two rounds of review by esteemed arts professionals across the country. Over 200 students are recognized for their achievements in the arts and their works are exhibited throughout the year. Top national-level winners are provided prizes and scholarships and their works are showcased and exhibited.

• Merit Award: Bronze Medal; Certificate of Merit; Work featured in the traveling exhibition
• Award of Excellence: $200 Young Artist Scholarship; Silver Medal; Certificate of Excellence; Work featured in the traveling exhibition
• Outstanding Interpretation Award: $800 Young Artist Scholarship; Gold Medal; Certificate of Outstanding Interpretation; Work featured in the traveling exhibition; $200 Prize for Local PTA Unit
